The Scribble

The Scribble has been a year long project consisting of six chapters. It features characters from all across the Quietcorn spectrum including Keith, The Double and The Thing That Came To Dinner. It started as a joke book I made in a Comic Illustration class I took at SVA last winter. (Winter of the Millennium) The project was to just create two pages of comic. The teacher of course hated it, it being as far from anything he wanted or intended the project to be. This is a comic predominately without panels. He wanted Panels. I tried explaining to him that the lack of panels was to give the story a certain flowing feel from each character's reaction to the next. He wanted action scenes, and I had conversation and jokes... Which is why after the first few pages I had to incorporate a battle scene. This is how the story took on it's action elements, which I didn't mind since I haven't done any action sequences since I was a little kid. If you look however, you can tell by the artwork which parts I was really into it. Quite frankly, this is a very sloppy comic. The plot is an excuse for jokes, the art could be a lot better and the backgrounds are pretty much just thrown on. It's pretty much just a scenario I have had in the back of my mind and just had to get out. The plot originally was designed for a late issue of Keith comics, which is before this web page's time. My friend Isaac wrote me a script on which this story is very heavily based. VERY heavily. He was the original creator of the Double all those many years ago, and this story was going to (In the original series) give him some background. Enjoy!
